Troubled rocker Pete Doherty has told police he was drawing blood from the girl who featured in the newspaper photographs which prompted his arrest on Saturday.

The pictures, published in Friday's edition of The Sun, appear to depict the self-confessed drug addict injecting himself with heroin, as well as a comatose young fan on his kitchen floor.

But 21-year-old Laura McEvoy, who is seen lying with her eyes closed while the Babyshambles singer inserts a needle into her arm, insists she was fully conscious when the picture was taken.

Doherty told police following his arrest he was taking blood from McEvoy to use to paint pictures - and six of his friends have given statements that no drugs were involved.

Doherty was bailed yesterday after spending a night behind bars.

An unnamed friend of the singer sold the images to the newspaper, claiming they had been taken over the past five weeks.

Laura McEvoy, 21, said to be "obsessed" with the singer, claimed they were just messing about and denied being unconscious in the snaps.

Doherty told police he was taking blood to paint bizarre pictures. Six others said no drugs were involved.

He was arrested on Saturday and released on bail until July after police saw images of him injecting the girl with the syringe in his flat.

oh yeah... i got my bank statement today - i'm £8.40 overdrawn, and i'm not meant to have an overdraft thing so the bank has decided in all its wisdom, becuase i have no money what so ever, to charge me £10 for it. oh the brains of the them!!! Jesus Christ...

i am stuck all alone in a cold house, i feel and look like shit and my exams start in exactly one week and i have hardly done any revision. i have also just realsied that i cannot type today. oh and i'm really worried bout someone. so my life at the moment isn't going the way it should. .....

had a wierd day at work today... was very quiet, and also no managers, Lian was ill and
Jan very spectularly quit her job, but i'm sure she will be abck, so the ass. manager from Bexleyheath had to come suppevise us. she was really quiet, i got to go on tils for most of the day, which was fun.

But i'm really ill. I can't swallow, my nose is blocked up, and my head hurts. i can't wait to crawl into my nice warm bed... have fun at the cinema tonight if ur going, and if not, have funny doing whatever your doing.

i have decided that i am goin g to live in an ikea house becuase i went to Ikea last night avec ma mere et je pense c'est fantastique!!! the stuff is so cool and so cheap! If we can find a way to get the Lakeside - i am taking people to Ikea soon and then you can all share the greatness of the shop avec moi.

The problem - i have no money, and even when i get money tis not gonna be enough...
oh and there is also a little thing called an iriver that i would love to buy but thats gonna take months to save up for - assuming i don't spend anything i earn on anything else, which isn't going to happen.

Why can't money grow on trees... or why don't i get a credit card???

my bedroom is in a right mess - grsnted my room is never tidy but this really does like like a bomb has exploded, and wheni do tidy up it just gets messy again, hence my motto

"tidy people are lazy, they can't be bothered to look for their stuff"

i suppose i should update...

My weekend has been really good, on Saturday i went to work and i got to go on the Tills - they are so much fun because everyone wants to pay by card and this is a new thing for me. "would you like to type in your pin code please?" oh the funness of it. I then came home and became Lumberjack Jane!!! My dad, our next door neighbour and me were cutting the the humogous trees at the side of our garden, i got to use the saws - it was Great!!! and then we had a huge bonfire i smelled of smoke and it was horrible but the bonfire bit was good.

On Sunday i did some history parliamentary reform revision in the morning and in the afternoon i went to a political conference at the town hall, where all of the candidates for Eltham got together answer questions from the public. I went all on my own and was the only person under 50 there. And the Tory candidate sounded exactly like Jonathon Ross, t'was funny. and i was brave and asked them about transport and university stuff and EMA and how they could justify it (that was to the labour guy) and i felt really really pround that i went.

This morning 8 Simple Rules morning on ABC1 so i didn't get dressed til gone 12, and then i became Lumberjack Jane again and have been all afternoon and all evening - i gots to use the saws again and i'm getting really good. and then the bonfire. what can i say... im a pyromanic...it was fun.

ppl are watching Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy now, it makes me sad, cos i really wanted to see it, but im not allowed out at weekends until after exams, as my mother puts it "your social life has to take a back seat" humph.
But she was nice and she still lets me see Mark after school - for a while she wasn't gonna let me.

well i've got a lot happier since my last post!
I don't have to put up with physics anymore - yay!!!!
and i have sorted things out with Mark and all is good, We had a crazy random meeting today which was fun!!! but i don't think i can see him til Wednesday, which really sucks.......
i can't believe emma broke our locker, but, she shouldn't have changed the code in the first place then we wouldn't have been in this mess... but anyway lets not argue over it.

la la di da.

Poor Nicola, stuck in Dorthory Perkins til 9.30 tonight, with no-one but killer thongs for company, its enough to drive anyone insane.

I'm definitely going back to Florida in April, oh the joy. Oh well, lots of cheap converse and Ponderosa!!! the best restaurant the the world!!!

i am so fucking tired, and i have to go face 14 little girls now. Not only is it bad - its awlful, they are going to be armed with paint and Sue is back this week. I want to kill that women.

I left the paints i brought at lunch at school, so i had to get off the bus in eltham and buy some more - what i waste of money i that i don't actually have - now im in even more debt.

I just want to crawl under my bed covers and stay there - its the best place for me - i'm tired, drained, exhausted, stressed and my eye keeps pulsing (for lack of a better word) and it is pissing me off. I wish the world would just disppear - especially Mrs Fucking Fish - who i want to slap her with a wet fish, the cheek of that women, i cannot wait to leave that fucking school. I'm gonna bve a full time receptionist in a doctors surgery. Just cos i went to fucking grammar school doesn't mean to say i have to go to university and do well in life. I hate the way everybody thinks you have to. somebody has to be the receptionist otherwise the world would be receptionistless. I might not even come back next year. i hope they tell me i can't, it would be so much easier.

i cycled up the the park this afternoon avec ma famille and played football, until boys from Maisie and Katie's class arrive, and then it was cool to be seen with us anymore. and they stole the football, so we were left sitting there doing nothing.

but it was still fun, cos then i went and tackled the one that fancies katie, (they were flirting it was so cute) adn we got the ball back!

yay!

i finished my first day at work, was so much people. The people i work with are so funny and we have a really good laugh together.

i have given in my geography coursework, at last, it is finally definately finished, i am free!
and i have started my revision, and actually learnt stuff! a great thank chi to Rea, who is putting up with me and my non exsistant knowledge of physics. THANK YOU!

tis five months today for me and mark, i don't he has even remembered. oh well. It feels like i've been with him forever. i'm so happy. :-)

i really excited about work tomorrow, t'will be my first day, yay!!!
